MONTEE RAISES $109,944; THOMAS, $64,760
SAINT JOSEPH – In reports filed this week with the Missouri Ethics Commission, Democratic State Auditor candidate Susan Montee reported raising $109,944.19 between July 28th and September 2nd. Republican Sandra Thomas reported raising $64,760 during the same period.
“We are proud to have raised so much money from so many individuals,” Montee Campaign Manager Sean Spence said. “Unfortunately for Sandra Thomas, individual donors are showing very little faith in her candidacy. Sandra Thomas' lack of support can be directly attributed to fears Missourians have about her competence and ability to be the state's financial watchdog.
"The fact that 47% of Ms. Thomas' contributions on this report come from three Republican Party committees, calls into question the level of independence Thomas would have in auditing the Blunt administration and other Republicans," Spence said.
Ms. Thomas reported three contributions totaling $30,525: the 32nd Republican Legislative District Committee ($12,750), the 7th District Congressional Republican Committee ($12,775) and the 17th Republican Senatorial Committee ($5,000).
