MONTEE CONTINUES SWEEP OF NEWSPAPER ENDORSEMENTS
(ST. JOSEPH, MO) – Today, the Springfield News-Leader became the fourth Missouri newspaper to endorse State Auditor Candidate Susan Montee, Democrat, over her Republican opponent, Sandra Thomas. Together, these four newspapers serve over 80% of Missouri’s electorate.
In addition to the Springfield News-Leader, the newspapers that have endorsed Montee are the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Kansas City Star and the Columbia Daily Tribune.
“I could not be more honored by the response we are seeing to our campaign around the state,” Montee said. “Newspaper endorsements have consistently mentioned the importance of having an auditor with the right experience and independence. It is gratifying to have such broad agreement that I am the candidate with these qualities.”
Montee provided a list of quotes from the endorsements:

Susan Montee, the Democratic nominee who is Buchanan County auditor, is a better choice because her experience and training are broader. She has been a CPA for more than 20 years, much longer than Republican Sandra Thomas, Platte County auditor.

But there are also clear differences among the two candidates, and we believe that Montee stands out as the best choice for Missouri's future.

Performance audits are part of the job, which is why Missouri needs an independent auditor who isn't afraid to rock the boat. Susan Montee is the choice.
